What're your questions for the world?

EXTRA INFO ABOUT THE SITE:

Hey! This blog is about asking questions that're on my mind or that people may ask me. These are not little questions really and they can have multiple answers so feel free to answer them as you see fit. The whole point of the site is to have people think about the world and the way things are. If you don't agree with something I've said tell me why with a comment (you have to have a google account), but please don't use that as a way to be obnoxious. Everything is pretty much up in the air when it comes to what you think and how you feel about something so I can't really set down any guidelines other than don't be too judgmental of another comment or of something I may have said.

Stay open-minded and hear people out. =]

Hope you enjoy and don't criticize what I'm trying to say too harshly. Although of course I'm open to criticism and debates. =]

Also...Email me @: tomiahayes@yahoo.com if you have a question you'd like to have posted on the site. Remember they have to be versatile and have many possible answers and they can't be...child-ish.

Why: Are People More Afraid of Darkness Then Light? (Asked by Amar)

       Hmm. What an interesting question.

This brings me to think about the definitions of dark and light, as well as black and white.

Dark: sinister; evil: a dark purpose
Black: lacking hue and brightness; absorbing light without reflecting any of the rays composing it.

Light: an illuminating agent or source, as the sun, a lamp, or a beacon.
White: a color of pure snow, of the margins of this page, etc; reflecting nearly all rays of sunlight or a similar light.

Now, looking at those definitions, which do you think would appeal to most people on a  regular basis? (Don't even think about pulling the race card with this one!) I'm just trying to say that when things are bright or light people are drawn more to it. There's nothing to really be afraid of, or at least that's not the first thing that we think --> "Oh no it's bright turn away turn away!" is never our first response. It's always "Hmm dark cave or light cave? LIGHT CAVE." that's just how life is!

If there wasn't for how we see blackness we wouldn't fear it so much. Being afraid of the dark or "darkness" as Amar put it, is a part of human nature. Think about it, when we were little kids how many of us has night lights? I know I did! As we grew older we learned to tolerate the dark. Or at least that's how I see it. I still have my moments when I have to put my head under the cover, hiding from things that aren't even there (Yea yea funny shut up). Even adults try to front sometimes. They're just lucky they have someone else in their room most of the time.

That's pretty much all the answer I can give you, considering I don't know everything or even want to. So my dear readers tell me what you think. Why're people are of dark rather then light?

What: Is A Stupid Question?

Now, a lot of people say that there are no stupid questions. Many school teachers inform there students of that on a daily basis. Some elaborate and say "The only stupid question is the question not asked" <-- does that even make any sense? How is it stupid if it was never asked in the first place? I completely disagree with the whole "there are no stupid questions" thing. I think it's just a bunch of b.s we feed children when they're younger. I mean, sure, it's a good thing to inquire, I'm not saying we shouldn't ask questions...I'm just saying... THERE IS ALWAYS A STUPID QUESTION.

Let me explain my thinking a little for you all. I've been going to public schools all my life, and a lot of the time people say that the private school people get a better education BLAH BLAH BLAH, but today I heard a question that made me write this. During a VOLLEYBALL game right after the announcer said "WELCOME TO EAGLE VIEW VOLLEYBALL!" really loud over the intercom, a girl turned to her mother and asked "So, what's this sport called?"....I know what you're thinking...Maybe she was trying to be funny? Wrong. She had the blankest look on her face. She was completely confused. Maybe she was young? Wrong. She looked to be  around 13 or 14. Maybe she's "slow"? HA! Obviously. I wasn't the only one who heard this ridiculous question. People all around focused there attention on her, the girl's own mother just sat there staring at her like she didn't know what the girl had asked....What did I do? LAUGH.

For the record, I'm not trying to be mean. I'm just saying....There are stupid questions whether you choose to believe it or not. They are everywhere. That was just my example for today. On several other occasions I'd encountered other "slow" individuals, who went and asked similar questions a lot like the girls, and honestly before I even thought about answering there question I had to laugh. It's just in my nature. Just to clear the air, I had to put that out there. It bothered me to think that so many people go around asking so many dumb questions all the time. If you're one of these people...No, don't go and try to be offended now, you're the one not thinking. Don't blame me for your obtuseness.

Anyway....What is a stupid question? I know you all have heard one once before....

Is: Being High Wrong?

Now, a lot of you would say "Yes" right off the bat, because drugs are wrong. Just hear me out though. What do you consider to be a drug? Do you just think of narcotics? Well, that's not how it is for me. I consider a lot of things to be a "drug". For example: Mountain Dew. Or Oreos are what I would consider a "drug" for me. I'm completely "addicted" to them. When I eat oreos or drink Mt. Dew I have a high that no one can really take me down from. I feel better then I did or had. Would you consider that to be a bad thing?
Then there are people who can give me a high. No I'm not talking about drug dealers. I mean, people I love that make me feel like I'm floating. Like I'm on top of the world and no one can bring me down. And there are those who make me feel lower than low (which can also happen when you're high). Does anyone get what I'm trying to say here? High doesn't have to just be a bad thing. Of course drugs are bad blah blah blah. But what about that natural high feeling we people get everyone in a while. When we're happier than happy? Is that wrong to? It's being high.
There's a difference in highs. There's the frowned upon high that a lot of people still partake in anyway. And then there's the I feel very good about myself and what's going on around me high. I'd like to say as a person who know what that feels like that that's far from being frowned upon. But as always this is just my opinion. Read the question and interpret it however you would like. Just take into consideration what I just said, maybe it'll help you see things from a different perspective.
Anyway, tell me what you think...Is it wrong?
